The Cody Center for the Performing Arts recent competition season ended with several dancers receiving awards and scholarships for their efforts.

CCPA dancers participated in four competitions during the year, including the 24/7 Dance Conference and Competition, Celebration Talent, Spotlight Dance Cup and Thunderstruck Dance Competition. All four events tour nationally with stops in Billings and Gillette.

“I am so proud of all of our competitors this year,” said CCPA director Angie McKenzie. “There were hundreds of dancers and routines from studios around the region and because of the strong work ethic and talent of our students, many received high honors, national scholarships and awards.”

Dancers who received special recognition and invitations to national events were: Jaxton Braten (Weekend Warior Award at 24/7 Convention), Rachel Bruce, Kyla Owen and Sadie Smith (High 5 Award at 24/7), Gabriel Sanchez (Non-stop Dancer runner-up at 24/7, Dancer of the Year at Celebration Talent and Thunderstruck National Workshop Recipient at Thunderstruck Dance Competition) and Kenna Livingston (Dancer of the Year at Celebration Talent and Thunderstruck National Workshop Recipient at Thunderstruck).
