Letter: Skoric has served Park County well

I have been watching this race for the position of county attorney in Park County, and can no longer remain silent. For those who do not know me, I have recently retired from the active practice of law of over 40 years. I spent over 26 years as a trial lawyer and in litigation in over 14 counties in California, and five counties in Wyoming, as well as several cases within the federal district courts in California. 

My relationship with all these district, county and U.S. attorneys has been varied, if not challenging. Some good, some not so. I describe some of these relationships in a recent book published as “Grunt Lawyer.”

I must say, of all these government lawyers I have had to contend with, Bryan Skoric was one of the best and easiest to do business with. He always performed his duties with an expertise one would expect, but rarely experience. He was always prepared, always fair.  Most importantly, he always listened.  

With that quality he never forgot that protecting the public and adhering to the law was job one. He had that rare quality of being approachable.  That quality would always help to resolve cases in a just, if economical, fashion for all concerned.

Bryan Skoric’s years of service to Park County have served him and the county well. I do hope he will continue to serve.
