Rednour charged with perjury

Travis William Rednour, 40, now faces imprisonment for up to five years, a fine of no more than $5,000 or both, if convicted of perjury.

That would be in addition to felony charges Rednour currently faces for aggravated assault and battery of a pregnant woman and the misdemeanor charge for interfering with emergency calls.

The alleged assault and battery in September occurred after Rednour’s girlfriend told him she was pregnant, the affidavit said.

The victim told police that Rednour had shoved her, pulled her around by the hair on her head and slapped her across the face. She further told police that Rednour prevented her from calling 911 after the incident, according to the affidavit.

Rednour allegedly committed perjury on Feb. 7 while inside the Park County Detention Center.

Following the posting of his $30,000 cash bond last year, he was released from Park County Detention Center, but was rearrested Feb. 3 due to a warrant revoking his probation for driving with a suspended license, according to the affidavit.

Around 3 p.m. on Feb. 7, Rednour placed a call to his girlfriend, who he had been ordered not to have any contact with by the Park County District Court during his arraignment in November of last year.

All calls made by inmates in the Park County Detention Center are recorded, the affidavit said.

When Cody Police Sgt. Trapp Heydenberk reviewed the recorded call between Rednour and the victim, Rednour was charged with perjury.

Rednour began the call by asking the victim to get the case against him dismissed, the affidavit said.

“[She] advised that it is not up to her and that it is in the state’s hands,” the affidavit said.

Rednour then told her to get a lawyer and recant her statement to the county attorney or to a judge, the affidavit said.

“[The victim] says it would not matter if she said she did not want anything done,” the affidavit said. “Rednour says not if you said you lied. [She] says she did not lie, and Rednour acknowledges that.”

The victim then told Rednour to take a plea deal and do five months in jail, but Rednour disagreed, the affidavit said.

Rednour was given a $10,000 cash-only bond for the perjury charge and was again ordered by Park County Circuit Court to have no contact, including by third parties, with the victim.

Rednour currently sits in the Park County Detention Center on a $70,000 bond, with a total of eight charges — two counts of bond revocation, one count of battery of a pregnant woman, one count of interference with emergency calls, three counts of driving with a suspended license and one count of perjury, according to the Park County Sheriff Office’s inmate list.

He now faces a preliminary hearing on Feb. 23 to address the perjury charge. The hearing will determine if his case gets transferred to Park County District Court.
