House hopes to strengthen local businesses, community

Various communities in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho were considered, he said, but one community stood above the rest.

“I have had a lifelong desire to relocate to the mountain states,” House said. “Cody was a natural choice because it is a thriving community with conservative values and opportunities for many outdoor activities.”

House moved to Park County in September of 2022 with the intent of operating his business advisory services company from home. But when the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce announced it was hiring a new CEO, the opportunity to contribute to his new hometown was too good to turn down, he said.

House started work as the chamber’s new CEO earlier this month. He said he has several priorities in the new job, including building and developing business opportunities for Cody entrepreneurs.

House said he will also work to increase services offered both to existing and new members. He noted the chamber currently had roughly one-third of local businesses as members, which provides room to expand and improve.

Lastly, House said he would work to “support and enhance community development.” He expressed particular interest in developing the young workforce of Cody and providing opportunities that would allow the city’s young adults to continue working in town after graduating from high school.

House comes to the chamber with a variety of public and private sector experience, including military service in the U.S. Air Force, entrepreneurship, business advisory services and real estate.

He said those varied experiences equip him with a variety of skills that will be useful at the chamber, such as organizational leadership, project management, business and employee development as well as fiscal and contract management.

In his free time, House enjoys exploring Cody’s natural beauty by hiking, biking, kayaking and trail riding, among other activities.

House takes over the CEO role from Tina Hoebelheinrich, who served the Cody chamber for seven years, and recently accepted a job with the Casper chamber.
