The Wyoming Council of the Blind State Convention is June 28-29 in Casper.

The event is 5-8 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church, 3030 South Poplar.

Friday includes a vendor expo where attendees will have a chance to participate in hands-on trials of some of the most current low vision devices, such as cctvs (magnification devices), ScripTalk and other adaptive aids.

The Saturday keynote speaker is Denny Moyer, founding member and current CEO of the Ensight Skills Center for Low Vision Rehabilitation in Fort Collins, Colo.

There will be a hands-on art activity afterward.

During the annual business meeting, attendees will learn about the organization and have the opportunity to elect new officers and directors. 

Lunch and awards will be presented.

There is an arrangement for special pricing at the Quality Inn. 

The event also includes a raffle and the winning tickets will be drawn on Saturday. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and door prizes to be given away throughout the day.

Organization dues are $20 a year.
