There will be a flyover, honoring of veterans and remarks from a Romanian-American as part of the annual Freedom Celebration at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The tribute to veterans at the Wyoming Veterans Memorial Park is put on by the Park County Republican Party.
Organizer Carol Armstrong said it’s a chance to honor all those who have fought for the country’s freedom at home and abroad.
The flyover will be done once again by pilots Wally Zook and Bo Elwald in their T-34s.
Armstrong said veterans will be featured throughout the program.
It will also be an opportunity for guest speaker Ovie Muntean, born in Transylvania, Romania, to talk about why freedom isn’t free.
His father John Muntean began a hunger strike at an international conference in Madrid, Spain, in protest of Romania’s communist regime of Nicolae Ceausescu.
In 1981 John Muntean led 50 family members to the U.S. as thousands more Romanians fled the country.
Ovie Muntean and his wife Adrianna are now both U.S. citizens and business owners and have three children who they said they have brought up to love their country.
Ovie Muntean is a leader of Northwest Battle Buddies.
