Throughout the board meeting, trustee Gina Morrison called for several roll call votes rather than have the board answering in favor or against a motion.

On Wednesday morning, she declined to explain why she asked for the individual votes. She said she preferred the board chairman explain how the voting system works.

“I was showing some of my newness,” referring to her recent election to the board. “I’m very much about understanding (what’s involved). Before we take a vote, I want to understand what I’m voting on.”

She was pleased with the turnout for the forum and the public being engaged in the process.

“I’m happy we heard from so many different voices,” she said.
