Cody Mayor Nancy Tia Brown speaks at a luncheon Friday at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge in Yellowstone Park. The event was in celebration of the “power of partnerships and the opening of YNP as scheduled.” Also pictured are (standing) Cody chamber executive director Scott Balyo, (sitting, center from left) Gov. Matt Mead and YNP Superintendent Dan Wenk, and (sitting, foreground) Wyoming Tourism Council member Sandy Newsome of Cody. Mead praised the Cody and Jackson chambers of commerce for “coming together and showing great leadership,” adding the plowing of the east and south gate roads is a “truly great Wyoming success story.” Mead also shook hands with eight Wyoming Department of Transportation staffers from Cody who were in attendance. Staff from the state of Wyoming, YNP, WYDOT, Park County Travel Council, Cody and Jackson chambers, and the cities of Cody and Jackson were in attendance.
