Missing woman dies in accident

A Cody woman missing since Saturday night died in a motor vehicle accident.

Sasha Fawn Breckner, 25, was killed when her vehicle crashed and caught fire early Sunday morning, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Friends reported her missing at 7 a.m. Monday. Breckner had left her two young children with a babysitter Saturday, according to reports.

She had been at Cooter Browns bar Saturday night and was then going to travel to Billings to meet a friend early Sunday morning. About 2:45 a.m., Breckner reportedly stopped at the Maverik Country Store on Big Horn Avenue and obtained directions to Billings. She never arrived there Sunday.

Park County Search and Rescue was called in Monday afternoon to search ditches and riverbanks along WYO 120 between Cody and the Montana state line.

During the search, Breckner's 2004 Ford Taurus was located 36 miles north of Cody along WYO 120 at 1:30 p.m.

Breckner's vehicle apparently crossed the center line sometime after 3 a.m. Nov. 16 and left the road on the west side where she struck a delineator post. She then over corrected to the left, which caused the vehicle to go into a broadside slide. The vehicle rolled down an embankment at least twice before coming to rest in an area not visible from the road, according to reports.

Breckner was ejected from the vehicle, which caught fire and was totally consumed in the ensuing blaze, according to reports.
