The Meeteetse volleyball team sits in second place after splitting with two conference opponents last week.

Meeteetse lost to Burlington on Thursday night 26-24, 25-17, 25-12, but defeated Dubois on Friday 25-17, 26-24, 26-24. The team is 16-6 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

The Lady Longhorns used the home crowd to their advantage in the first game against Burlington, taking a big lead before the Lady Huskies went on a run.

Meeteetse struggled to keep the ball in play during the second game and had completely lost the momentum by game three.

With the loss the Lady Longhorns are now sit in second place. A win would have had them tied for the top spot.

Meeteetse turned things around during the second match of homecoming week with a sweep of Dubois. The Lady Longhorns easily took game one, but had to battle to win games two and three.

At the Kaycee Tournament on Oct. 3-4 the Lady Longhorns finished fourth.

In pool play Meeteetse lost to Arvada-Clearmont 21-15, 21-14. They then defeated Rock River 21-19, 21-20, St. Stephens 21-10, 21-7 and Midwest 21-16, 21-16 to advanced to the gold bracket.

In their opening game they lost to eventual champion Kaycee 21-16, 21-14. They were eliminated by Arvada-Clearmont 21-7, 21-7.

This week Meeteetse travels to Ten Sleep on Friday for their final regular season game. They play at the conference tournament in Lander the following week.
