It's time for the 8-second rush in Cody again.

The Cody Nite Rodeo begins the 2007 season Friday, June 1.

This is the beginning of another exciting summer of rodeo action.

The Nite Rodeo has flourished the last two years. Maury and Nikki Tate are entering their third season as the contractors.

After a few years of struggles and declining attendance, the Stampede board and the couple have rejuvinated the rodeo.

In 2005, they set attendance records with a variety of top talent, fresh acts and ticket promotions.

The rodeo, like many Cody attractions, suffered a slight dip in attendance in 2006 as a result of high gas prices.

But 2007 promises to be another banner year.

The Nite Rodeo leads the way for two other big rodeo events.

While we are sad to see the loss of the Championship Bull Riding event in September, the Xtreme Bulls Tour will more than fill the void.

The June 30 event will not only feature the top bull riders in the nation, it will also bring a national audience to Cody.

ESPN broadcasts the Xtreme Bulls, so the “Rodeo Capital of the World” will fill the airwaves in the homes of millions who might not be familiar with Cody.

And the 4th of July Stampede Rodeo is a world-class show tourists and locals alike flock to see.

So dust off your boots and hats, it's time to cowboy up again.
